This modernist Square located in the centre of Wrocław with car park and pre-war bunker underneath did not exist in the minds of residents as a public space for many years despite its role as one of the main city squares. After the first renovation in 2013 has become a symbol of hard landscaping an had rather a bad associations with concrete built city landscapes. A space was not liked by residents and did not fulfill its role as a city square. Whe adaptation to climate change became an important element of urban planning, the city authorities decided to green the square.
